SAO PAULO, Feb. 20 (Xinhua) -- Chelsea forward Deivid Washington has returned to his former club Santos on a 10-month loan, the Brazilian Serie A side said on Thursday.
The agreement includes an option for Santos to secure the 19-year-old on a permanent contract when the loan expires, Santos said in a brief statement.
Washington has made just three appearances for Chelsea following his 20 million euro transfer from the South American giants in August 2023.
Despite his lack of opportunities with the London club, Washington was a key member of the Brazil squad that won the South American under-20 championship in Venezuela earlier this month.
He is Santos' 11th new signing this year, joining Neymar, Luisao, Ze Ivaldo, Leonardo Godoy, Ze Rafael, Thaciano, Alvaro Barreal, Benjamin Rollheiser, Tiquinho Soares and Gabriel Veron.
