RIO DE JANEIRO, Aug. 5 (Xinhua) -- Colombia international striker Miguel Borja has joined Gremio on an 18-month loan deal, the Brazilian Serie A club said on Thursday.
Borja completed a medical on Thursday and could make his debut for the Porto Alegre outfit in their home clash against Chapecoense on Monday.
"[We] confirm the signing of striker Miguel Borja, who signed a contract until December 2022," read a statement on Gremio's official website.
Borja, who is contracted with Gremio's Brazilian rivals Palmeiras until December 2023, has spent the past 18 months on loan at Colombian top-flight club Junior Barranquilla.
The 28-year-old, who has been capped 19 times for Colombia, scored 33 goals in 55 appearances across all competitions for Junior.
Gremio are currently 19th in the 20-team Brazilian Serie A standings with just seven points from 12 matches.
