JAKARTA, Jan. 28 (Xinhua) -- A total of 13 more overseas Indonesians have tested positive for COVID-19 most recently, bringing the group's total tally to 2,966, the Indonesian foreign ministry reported on Thursday.

Of the 13 new cases, five were reported in Japan, four in the Maldives, the remaining two in Cuba and Bahrain respectively.

Furthermore, two more Indonesians, who live in Cuba and the Bahamas, have recovered from COVID-19, bringing the total number of recoveries from the epidemic to 2,107 or 71 percent of the accumulated cases reported in the group of overseas Indonesians.

Meanwhile, in this group, 688 patients of COVID-19 are still under medical treatment, and the COVID-19 death toll among the overseas Indonesians remains at 171.
