CITY OF ILAGAN, Isabela, Nov. 12 (PIA) - Ahead of the expected schedule, the Department of Public Works and Highways - Isabela Fourth District Engineering Office has announced that the retrofitting of two permanent bridges located in Cordon town and in Santiago City, both in this province, are now completed.
The Mabirit Bridge located along Santiago-Baluarte-Quirino boundary road in Santiago City measuring 60 meters and the San Luis Bridge along Daang Maharlika in Cordon with a length of 24 meters can now be used by motorists according to DPWH 4th District Engineering Office head Engr. Edmund B. De Luna.
"This strengthening works aim to prolong the life of the two bridges and to enhance their structural performance and durability. This is to ensure the safety of the travelling public," De Luna said.
The total cost exhausted in retrofitting Mabirit bridge and San Luis bridge were P19,486,514.95 and P8,093,153.66, respectively.
