South Korea experiments with derivative funds
Caribbean News.Net Saturday 10th May, 2008
South Korea plans to allow hedge funds next year to provide more financial opportunities.
South Korean officials have said they will introduce hedge funds in 2009 after a new law on capital market deregulation goes into effect in February 2009.
South Korea is expected to come up with strong safeguard measures for investor protection and stability in the financial markets.
More state-owned companies will also be able to list their shares on the Seoul stock exchange in an effort to provide a wide range of investment opportunities.
